Your child is active and likes the idea of snowboarding, surfing or skateboarding. The problem is, you may not live near slopes or waves and YOU may not be ready for your child to have a skateboard or broken bones, as a result
. We hear you and we have a solution: The Spooner!
The Spooner is a piece of sports equipment that looks like a shorter, wider skateboard with curved edges – like a spoon. You stand on it sideways and mimic moves like you’re riding a snowboard, surfboard or skateboard. While the Spooner doesn’t have wheels, its shape makes it a challenge to balance, teaching your child the skills they’ll need to master the “real thing”. You can flip, spin, slide and wobble on the board, and as the kids say, it’s totally rad.
Spooner Boards makes two boards: a 28” Pro model made for people more than 4 feet tall, and the 24” Freestyle model, which is great for people less than 4 feet tall. The Freestyle is suitable for children aged 3 and up and is on the Astra Best Toys for Kids list. Bonus!
It works great on any surface and in any space. Your kids can use the Spooner in your living room, kitchen, bedroom, in the grass, on a tennis court or in the driveway — no waves, slopes or wheels required.
The Freestyle Spooner comes in seven colors and has horizontal strips for foot traction. You have to watch the demonstration video. Dude, it’s rad!
